Asus Eee Pad Transformer TF101: Smart Tablet With Mobile Docking Station

Asus Eee Pad Transformer TF101 Tablet with its keyboard dock comes as a stunning tablet for your productivity and entertainment. The Eee Pad Transformer for the 16GB Wi-Fi model is noted as the least expensive tablet using Android 3.0.

The Hardware
When you check its hardware, you will find that there are some similar characteristics to other tablets. Its screen size is 10.1 inches with some ports, buttons and slots on the edges. For processor, Asus uses Nvidia's 1GHz dual-core Tegra 2 platform with 1 GB of RAM. The OS is surely Google's Android 3.01 (Honeycomb). The Eee Pad Transformer is 0.5 inch in tall; this is longer than other tablets. This size enables the tablet to match the Mobile Docking Station so that they can transform into a clamshell laptop.

The design is also well executed. The buttons are placed properly so that you can operate the tablet easily. The power button and volume rocker is placed at the upper right corner, the camera is at the top center, and at the right edge you can find Mini-HDMI port, micro SD card slot and 3.5 mm audio jack.

This tablet uses 1280 x 800 pixel IPS display and its screen has 16:10 aspect ratio. The IPS technology enables this tablet to present stunning viewing angles with improved colors. Its color accuracy is even comparable with Apple iPad 2.

The Software
This new Asus tablet has some improvements in its user-interface. The core navigation buttons are better and Asus replaces the standard Honeycomb navigation buttons with three solid button formations. The keyboard also changes drastically. The Transformer's keyboard default features a lighter-gray background with dark letters and numbers.

Users can find custom wallpapers as well as useful on board applications such as Infraware's Polaris Office 3.0, Fuze Meeting and a file manager. The other applications you can use with the Transformer are MyCloud, MyLibrary and Epub.

The Keyboard Docking Station
The Transformer gets its name from the companion piece called Mobile Docking Station. This companion piece will transform this tablet into an amazing netbook-like clamshell. When the Transformer and the Mobile Docking Station are combined, they look smart. There are two USB ports on the Docking Station and one SDHC card slot. You can plug external mouse on the USB port and the SDHC card slot can accommodate various SD cards. By combining the tablet and the Mobile Docking Station, you will get extra battery life.

Bottom Line
It is worth enough to consider this tablet as your companion in working. Its pricing and the stunning display make the tablet some as a great choice for everyone.
